My Story
After an "awakening" event, I was led from my Jewish roots to explore other spiritual paths, landing on Taoism through Qigong practices.

Along my journey I have acquired the following:
-
AAS degree in Medical Laboratory Technology since 1982
-
Herbology certificate by the Living with Herbs Institute since 1996
-
Certified Energy Healer - 3 year school : Inner Focus School for Advanced Energy Medicine, graduated in 2000 (Based on Barbara Brennans' "Brennan Healing Science" (BHS))
-
BS degree in Interpersonal Communications from Colorado State University
-
Qigong training with Master Michael Winn in Asheville, 1999 to 2020 with ongoing study
-
Thai Yoga Massage training at the Atlanta School of Massage in 2003
-
12 week course in “Taoist Stone & Crystal Medicine” with Sarah Thomas, LAc., 2025
-
Practitioner Member of the National Qigong Association (NQA)

I had been in private practice from 1996-2001 in Atlanta working with clients through energy focused bodywork, meditation and herbalism. During that time I spoke at various hospitals and holistic centers on stress reduction and meditation, published a directory of holistic healers called The Healing Source, published articles in various local Atlanta publications, spoken on WRFG radio and Media One TV stations, and been featured in Atlanta Magazine. I was on the Oprah Winfrey show in April of 2007 speaking on lifestyle options.
Now living in Durham, North Carolina since 2006, I retired in 2024 from a Sr. Scientist position with Roche Diagnostics and currently teach Qigong and perform EnerQi Body Work.

"Friendly and Approachable, Engaging, Attentive. Onja gave thoughtful explanations to provide context behind the Qigong movements, which I liked! She was clear and easy to understand, approachable and welcoming."

"Friendly and Approachable, Outgoing, Fun, Engaging, Spiritual, Attentive. Onja provided great options for all of the students' levels of strength, mobility, and/or flexibility. The explanations of the different movements were philosophical and inspiring. Everything flowed nicely."
